I am absolutely in love with the intriguing designs of Missoni, an iconic fashion brand of zigzag-patterned knitwear. As I was snooping around my favorite local fabric store Collage in Mondovì (thank you, Sergio), this fabric jumped out at me. I was immediately taken away by the bold effect combined with their exquisite use of pattern play. At the moment I had no particular pattern in my mind, I just had to possess this fabric.
The next day I was invited to the 2012 vintage tasting by a local wine producer Gianni Gagliardo that annualy helds a mega party with at least 500 guests at his winery. The vineyards are located in Barolo area famous for the special character of the terroir that gives these wines their unique and exceptional personality. The Missoni zigzag dress was perfect for this occasion.
I decided to use this pattern again as the important fabric called for a simple and elegant cut. But this time I added sleeves and changed the neckline. The fabric is a cotton and viscose blend. The dress is fully lined with Bemberg lining of rosa chic colour.
